"The Walking Dead" season 6 has gone on a long midseason break after it aired episode 8, titled "Start to Finish", on 29 November. Fans can expect to catch the next episode 9, "No Way Out" only next year on Valentine's Day -- 14 February, 2016. But for now, you can get your fix from the midseason premiere trailer that AMC has released.
This new trailer has dropped major clues about what's going to happen to all the major characters likes Rick Grimes, Maggie, Glenn, Daryl, Sasha and Abraham when "The Walking Dead" season 6 returns with episode 9.
The 30-second teaser starts off with where the "Start to Finish" episode left us off with. The opening scene shows Rick attempting to lead a small group from Jessie's house into the walker-infested streets of Alexandria. And, he along with Michonne is seen fighting off the walkers side by side.
"I thought living behind these walls was possible. I was wrong," Rick is heard saying in the trailer.
But, the other thing that the teaser clearly confirms is the arrival of the dreaded, big bad -- Negan. Though the character doesn't make an appearance in this clip, his presence is clearly evident. We do get to hear the first reference to Negan during the post-credits scene of the mid-season finale.
If you recall the midseason finale, Daryl, Abraham and Sasha are stopped by Negan's men, The Saviors. And now, looking at this new trailer, it looks like the trio is in grave danger as the group of henchmen demand all their stuff back. One of them, while disarming Daryl, tells him, "Your property now belongs to Negan."
With this, the trailer has definitely confirmed Negan's arrival, but the question now is who will die? Ever since the showrunners have hinted that there will be more deaths and that some popular characters might get killed off in the second half of the current season, fans have started predicting and speculating future of their favourite characters including Daryl Dixon and pregnant Maggie. Some fans are even betting on Daryl's death.
Meanwhile, it looks like Glenn will finally come back to Alexandria Safe-Zone and is ready to fight back to save Maggie and his unborn baby. But going by what the trailer shows, it seems like Maggie is struggling to survive as she is heard screaming and crying for her husband. Now, there are major rumours doing the rounds which suggest that Maggie may die in "No Way Out" and that Negan may kill her and not Glenn (as in the comics). So, is this new trailer hinting at the same?
