"The Walking Dead" season 6 went on a long midseason break after it aired episode 8, "Start to Finish". AMC's zombie series is now expected to return with episode 9, "No Way Out", after a long hiatus only on 14 February, 2016.
While the midseason finale and the midseason premiere trailer have both teased Negan's appearance in the second half of season 6 (mostly finale), the latest cast revelation has also confirmed that Negan's partner in crime Gregory is all set to debut when "The Walking Dead" season 6 returns from hiatus.
A couple of months ago, TVLine had reported that Xander Berkeley, best known for his role as George Mason on Fox's political thriller "24", would be joining the AMC series. But, the report had not disclosed the character that will be essayed by the 60-year-old actor. And now, the media outlet has confirmed that the veteran actor will play the character of Gregory.
Well, now if you go by Gregory's character as portrayed in Robert Kirkman's comic book, then it looks like some bad news awaits Rick Grimes and his gang in the second half of the season. According to the comics, Gregory is the "leader of the Hilltop Colony, a coward to the core and a total nightmare for Maggie and Rick."
The report also pointed out that Gregory is the villain who betrayed Rick and company to join merciless Negan and attempts to poison Maggie.
Now, there is no elaborate detail on how Berkeley's appearance as Gregory would be, but the producers have said that they have big plans for the actor's character and he could be continuing in season 7 too.
