"The Walking Dead" season 5 finale is just a month away and AMC has released the official synopsis of an extended 90-minute episode, which will be aired on Sunday, 29 March, at 9pm.
As per the description of episode 16, Norman Reedus' character Daryl Dixon finds himself in trouble while he is out on the run.
Though it is not clear whether Reedus will make it to the next season or not, there is buzz that the anti-hero will bid adieu to the horror series in the finale mainly due to his tight schedule.
The 46-year-old is currently involved in a number of upcoming projects, including French Director Fabienne Berthaud's road movie, "Sky", Hideo Kojima's survival horror video game "Silent Hills" and the next sequel of "The Boondock Saints". Hence, he may reportedly find it difficult to continue with the series.
Several spoilers have also stated the possibility of a cliff hanger, wherein the ultimate fate of Dixon could be hanging in air until the premiere of season 6.
Meanwhile, the finale of "The Walking Dead" season 5 will also focus on Rick Grimes and group in Alexandria. According to the synopsis, the team will continue to feel like outsiders as danger lurks near the gates.
