Nagarjuna's son Akhil Akkineni, who has finally started shooting for his debut movie, is all excited as director VV Vinayak is treating him like a prince on the sets of this untitled flick.
The shooting for Akhil's first film is taking place in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The elated actor took some time off from his shooting schedule to connect with his followers on Twitter. He tweeted, "My first schedule in ramoji film city is going great. Vinay garu is treating me like a prince I'm so lucky to have him as my director!"
Born in San Jose, USA, on 8 April 1994, Akhil Akkineni made his acting debut as a child artist in "Sisindri" (1995), which was produced by his father Nagarjuna. He has completed his BBA from the University of South Florida, College of Marine Science. He also graduated with theater arts from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in West Hollywood.
Akhil Akkineni, who did not want to miss a chance of sharing the screen with his late grandfather Nageshwara Rao, made a cameo appearance in blockbuster film "Manam". He won a lot of accolades for his special appearance. Recently, he was also featured in the commercial advertisement of Mountain Dew with Tamil actor Arya.
Speculations about his debut as a hero were being made for quite some time now. Finally, the makers of his first film put all the rumours to rest by launching the movie at Shilpakala Vedhika in Hyderabad on Valentine's Day, 14 February. This untitled film is being directed by ace filmmaker VV Vinayak.
Akhil's first film is expected to be a power-packed action entertainer with good dose of romance and comedy. Veligonda Srinivas of the "Damarukam" fame has penned the script for this movie, which is produced by actor Nithiin under the banner of Sreshta Movies. Ravi Varma will choreograph the action sequences.
Akhil has undergone rigorous training to fine tune his skills in dance and fights. He will be seen romancing Saira Banu's granddaughter Sayesha Saigal, who is also making her acting debut with this film. Reports suggest that veteran actor Rajendra Prasad will play Akhil's dad in the movie.
