Swedish car-maker Volvo is reportedly set to launch its luxury the S90 in India in November. The bookings for the S90 are already open in the country and the company is expected to commence the delivery by December.
A report of GaddiWaadi says that Volvo S90 will be launched in the country on November 4. The S90 will replace the ageing S80 sedan. The sedan will join Volvo's S60, S60 Cross Country, V40, V40 Cross Country, XC60 and XC90 in India.
The S90 is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 57 lakh to Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be pitted against Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Audi A6.
Based on Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) technology, the S90 will come powered top-end trim Inscription initially to India. Volvo is reportedly also looking to bring the D5 engine with all-wheel drive later. The D5 of the S90 has the capacity to pump in a power of 233bhp.
As for features, expect the S90 sedan to come equipped a host of features, like any other Volvo offering. The feature list would include Bowers & Wilkins sound system, navigation and climate control, Nappa leather upholstery, touchscreen climate-control interface for rear passengers and multiple drive modes.
Volvo India currently has its dealerships in South Delhi, West Delhi, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Kolkata and has plans to expand it further to Indore, Lucknow and Jaipur by the end of 2016.
