Swedish carmaker Volvo Cars has unveiled performance-oriented version of the S90 sedan. The S90 R-Design sports a new front-end design with spoiler-integrated fog lights. The car comes with a bespoke piano black and a new five-spoke matt black diamond-cut wheel adds sporty looks.
Volvo says the S90 is loaded with advanced sport chassis that delivers an energetic, road-hugging drive. On the inside, the R-Design model boast of unique deco trim, pedals and mats, contour seats and special steering wheel. The rest of the details have not been revealed yet while bookings are open now.
"R-Design delivers an edge to our elegant sedan model in our 90 Series, with a winning combination of a sportier, more responsive drive with clearly visible performance styling," said Bjorn Annwall, senior vice-president of Marketing Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Cars, in a statement.
Volvo Cars India is all set to launch the regular version of the S90 sedan during the festive season. The S90 sedan will replace the ageing S80 sedan in Indian portfolio. The S90 features a completely new design language of the Swedish brand that debuted with the XC90 SUV. The face of the sedan is highlighted with a square-shaped grille. The grille is flanked by the Thor's Hammer-inspired signature LED headlight. The rear of the car gets an all-new design and a set of C-shaped tail-lamps.
The sedan is expected to get a 2.0-litre diesel engine in D4 or D5 trims in the country. The D4 will develop 188bhp, while the D5 will churn out 232bhp.
