After quietly rolling out the 1.5-litre TDI engine for the Vento sedan, Volkswagen has announced the launch of the special edition of Vento for the Indian market. Dubbed Vento Preferred, the new edition will be available on all Comfortline variants of the Vento—MPI, TSI, TDI and TDI DSG.
The new Vento Preferred edition, which targets the corporate executives comes with additional features both inside and outside. While it gets exterior features such as alloy wheels, roof foil and side moulding, inside the Vento Preferred edition features leather seat covers, portable navigation device equipped with a wireless rear view camera.
"The Vento has been one of our best-selling vehicles since its launch in the Indian market and we are delighted to announce the introduction of 'Vento Preferred'. The vehicle will offer features that are premium and ensure seamless navigation in a single click, we are sure that our customers will find value in the Preferred experience. We continue to increase our offerings on our existing product line ensuring that we cater to our customer requirements," said Michael Mayer – Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India.
Volkswagen has not revealed the prices of the new Vento Preferred edition and the model is expected to be available for purchase at the dealerships of the company soon.
Volkswagen Vento now comes with updated 1 .5-litre TDI mill, which also does duty in the Ameo compact sedan and the new Skoda Rapid. The 1 .5-litre TDI engine is 108bhp of power and 250Nm of torque and the transmission is handled by a five-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
