Volkswagen Vento Facelift Makes India Debut at ₹7.44 lakh; Feature, Price, Variant Details [PHOTOS]

Volkswagen India pulled the wraps off its new Vento facelift in the country on Wednesday with a starting price of ₹7.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Vento facelift, the upgraded model of Vento has received changes both inside and outside and the highlight of the new version is its new 1.5-litre diesel engine.

The new engine, the replacement of the old 1.6-litre diesel engine, which also does the duty in new Polo has the capacity to churn out 103.5bhp power @ 4,400rpm and 250Nm of peak torque @ 1,500-2,500rpm and comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission and seven-speed DSG automatic.

The petrol variant of the Vento gets the power from the same 1.2-litre TSI and 1.6-litre MPI engines, which powers the existing model. While the 1.2-litre TSI variant comes coupled to a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, the 1.6-litre MPI engine gets five-speed manual transmission.

In terms of dimension, the new Vento facelift measures 4384mm in length, 1699mm in width and 1466mm in height. The car sits on a wheelbase of 2552mm and comes with a ground clearance of 165mm (diesel) and 168mm (petrol).

On the outside, the new Vento facelift sedan gets a new headlamp and alloy wheel along with the reworked rear bumper. Inside, the car hosts new features like three-spoke steering wheel like the one seen in Polo, audio system with voice inputs and rear AC vents.

On the safety front, the Vento facelift comes fitted with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Anti-pinch technology, rear parking sensors and dual front airbags.

In India, the car will be pegged against Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and Ford Fiesta.
