German carmaker Volkswagen is expected to launch its powerful hatchback, the Polo GTI, in India sometime later this year. Ahead of its launch, Volkswagen has been putting its upcoming model through rigorous testing in different terrains in India. Already caught on camera countless times, here is yet another set of spy images of the Polo GTI, this time showing the smaller wheels of the model.
The latest spy images of the Polo GTI came from AutoColumn and it shows a white-colour donned prototype. The Polo GTI was snapped in Pune with 15-inch wheels. Although it was being reported that the company will be launching the three-door Polo GTI first, Volkswagen is believed to be testing both five-door and three-door versions of the Polo GTI in India. The Polo GTI has made its appearance at Auto Expo 2016. The powerful hatchback will come as a completely Built Unit (CBU) and is expected to be priced at over Rs. 20 lakh.
At the heart of the GTI is a 1.8-litre four-cylinder TSI petrol mill that can churn out 192bhp of power with seven-speed DSG gearbox. It can attain 0-100 kmph in 6.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 236 kmph.
As for features, the Polo GTI is expected to come with features like new front and rear bumpers with a GTI badge and LED DRLs, honeycomb-styled radiator grille rear-spoiler, tail light clusters in dark red, a black grained diffuser and chrome dual exhaust tailpipes.
