The Polo GT TSI and GT TDI Sport variants priced at Rs 9.71 lakh and Rs 9.81 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai. The special editions are premium by Rs 22,000 over the regular Polo GT TSI and TDI models.
The new edition sets itself apart from other Polo variants with additions such as burnished 16-inch alloy wheels which are a size larger than the stock Polo and the Polo GT models. New side decals at the bottom of doors come with GT Sport label. In addition, the GT TSI/TDI badging remains on the C-pillar and the GT moniker on the front grille. The model flaunts black-coloured ORVM caps and a new larger black spoiler. The contrasting black rooftops up the total black colour treatment.
On the inside, there are no changes in the layout. The dark-colour theme carried inside the cabin with an all-black leatherette upholstery with a GT Sport embossed. The regular Polo GT comes with a dual-tone fabric upholstery.
There are no changes on the mill as well. The Polo GT Sport draws power from an in-line 4-cylinder 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine which develops 103.5bhp at 5,000rpm and 175Nm of torque at 1,500 to 4,100rpm mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The diesel mill is a 109bhp, 1.5-litre motor mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The move seems to target potential hot hatch buyers who have a new option now with the launch of Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS. Priced at Rs 8.69 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, the Baleno RS is also powered by a turbo petrol engine. The 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine develops 100bhp of power and 150Nm of torque mated to five-speed manual transmission.
