If the latest reports are to be believed, Volkswagen is gearing up to add new features to its popular hatchback Polo in India.
The folks at Team BHP report that the Polo hatchback will get additional features like electrically foldable door mirrors, cruise control and a cooled glove box in India and the updated model is likely to make its market entry by this August end. The same features were also seen in the newly launched Vento.
According to the report, the powertrain of Polo will remain the same as current model and the model will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines in the auto market.
While the petrol model of Polo facelift is powered by 1.2-litre MPI engine that can churn out a power of 75 PS @ 5,400 rpm and a torque of 110 Nm @ 3,750 rpm, the diesel variant comes with 1.5-litre diesel powertrain that can generate 90 PS @ 4,200 rpm and 230 Nm of torque at 1,500-2,500 rpm. With 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, the 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine generates 103PS and 175Nm of torque.
The report also adds that with the new features, the prices of Polo are also likely to go up by Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000. The prices of Trendline and Comfortline variants are likely to be increased by Rs 5,000, where as the Highline trim may cost Rs 15,000 higher.
