A fresh batch of images of Volkswagen Polo Allstar special edition has hit the web, indicating that the launch of the model in India is not too far off in the future. Snapped by MotorBeam, the Polo Allstar was spied undergoing testing alongside the facelifted Skoda Rapid and the left-hand drive Volkswagen Vento.
The Polo Allstar is the special edition of the Polo hatchback introduced for the promotion of 2016 UEFA European Championship football, which is scheduled to be kicked off in June and was first showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Although Volkswagen did not reveal the launch plan of the new Polo edition in India, the sighting of the model on the Indian roads hints at the arrival. Reports on the web suggest that Volkswagen Polo Allstar is likely to come to the Indian market in the second quarter of the year.
In the international market, the Polo Allstar special edition comes powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. In India, Volkswagen is likely to offer the new edition of the Polo with 1.5-litre diesel engine, paired to either five-speed manual transmission or the seven-speed DSG.
As for features, Volkswagen Polo Allstar features headlamp washers, fog lamps, new alloy wheels and Allstar stickers on the B-pillar. The India-bound model of the special edition is also likely to come equipped with the same features.
