Volkswagen India has launched a new limited edition model of its popular hatchback Polo. Christened as Polo Allstar, the special edition was globally introduced for the promotion of 2016 UEFA European Championship football and was first showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
The petrol version of the Polo Allstar has been priced at Rs 7.51 lakh and the diesel version costs Rs 9.07 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai. This means Polo Allstar edition has been priced at a premium of Rs 30,000 compared to the top-spec Polo variants.
A pure cosmetic upgrade, the Allstar edition comes with LED headlights and 15-inch, 20-spoke alloy wheels. It will flaunt headlamp washers, 'Allstar' badging on the B-pillar and sill plate. On the interior, Allstar edition features aluminium pedals, foot-well lamp and new seat upholstery with a contrasting stripe. A centre armrest and rear AC vent have also been incorporated, borrowed from the Vento. Allstar edition will be available available five colour options -- Reflex Silver, Candy White, Blue Silk, Flash Red and Toffy Brown.
In the international market, the Polo Allstar special edition comes powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. In India, Polo Allstar edition is offered in 1.2-litre MPi petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine, paired to five-speed manual transmission. The petrol mill develops 74bhp and 110Nm of torque, while the diesel mill returns 89bhp and 230Nm of torque.
Volkswagen India also just launched Polo GTI, the most powerful derivative of the Polo hatchback in India at Rs 25.65 lakh, ex-showroom, Thane.
