Volkswagen India has updated its website adding information on the upcoming Polo Allstar limited edition model. The website now shows pictures of the Allstar edition and confirms availability of special model in five colour options- Reflex Silver, Candy White, Blue Silk, Flash Red and Toffy Brown. The launch of Polo Allstar is expected in the coming weeks.
Allstar edition, is the special edition of the Polo hatchback introduced for the promotion of 2016 UEFA European Championship football and was first showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
The Allstar edition comes with LED headlights and 15-inch, 20-spoke alloy wheels. It will flaunt headlamp washers, 'Allstar' badging on the B-pillar and sill plate. On the interior, Allstar edition features aluminium pedals, foot-well lamp and new seat upholstery with a contrasting stripe. A centre armrest and rear AC vent has been incorporated which is borrowed from the Vento.
In the international market, the Polo Allstar special edition comes powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. In India, Volkswagen is likely to offer the new edition of the Polo in 1.2-litre MPi petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine, paired to five-speed manual transmission. The petrol mill develops 74bhp and 110Nm of torque while the diesel mill returns 89bhp and 230Nm of torque.
In addition to the Polo Allstar edition, Volkswagen India will also launch Polo GTI, the most powerful derivative of the Polo hatchback. The Polo GTI will be powered by a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing maximum power output of 189bhp and maximum torque of 320Nm, mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission.
