Volkswagen India is all set to launch Polo Allstar edition soon. The special edition had been snapped while testing in India in April and the emerging reports indicate market launch can be expected by the end of September or early October.
The Polo Allstar is the special edition of the Polo hatchback introduced for the promotion of 2016 UEFA European Championship football and was first showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
The Allstar Edition comes with LED headlights and 15-inch 20-spoke alloy wheels. The special edition flaunts headlamp washers, 'Allstar' badging on the B-pillar and sill plate, aluminium pedals, foot well lamp and black themed interior upholstery. The Allstar edition is expected to offer in three exterior colours â€" Blueberry metallic, Pure White and Sunset Red Metallic.
In the international market, the Polo Allstar special edition comes powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. In India, Volkswagen is likely to offer the new edition of the Polo with 1.5-litre diesel engine, paired to five-speed manual transmission.
Apart from Polo Allstar, Volkswagen India will also launch Polo GTI, the most powerful version of the Polo hatchback. The Polo GTI will be powered by a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing maximum power output of 189bhp and maximum torque of 320Nm, mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission. The GTI will run from 0-100 kmph in 6.7 seconds before reaching the top speed of 236kmph. This number makes GTI the most powerful hatchback to be sold in the country.
