German car-maker Volkswagen is reportedly planning to roll out the updated versions of some of its models in India during the festive season this year. Volkswagen's Polo hatchback and the Vento sedan are said to be the models in the line-up to get updated.
The update is likely to be in the form of additional features such as rain sensing wipers, auto dimming IRVM, phone book/SMS viewer, MirrorLink connectivity and a new touchscreen infotainment system, reports IndianAutosBlog.
The company is also likely to equip its updated models in the country with the updated 1.5-litre diesel engine. The updated version of the four-cylinder 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine would make 108bhp of power. The current 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine that powers the models like the Polo, Vento and Skoda Rapid can churn out 103bhp of power and 230Nm of torque.
Volkswagen is also expected to launch the Polo Allstar special edition in India soon. The Polo Allstar is the special edition of the Polo hatchback introduced for the promotion of 2016 UEFA European Championship football. Volkswagen Polo Allstar features headlamp washers, fog lamps, new alloy wheels and Allstar stickers on the B-pillar. The India-bound model of the special edition is also likely to come equipped with the same features.
In India, Volkswagen has recently launched the Polo Select and the Vento Celeste, the special editions that come equipped with new exterior and interior features. Offered only in the top-spec Highline variants of both the Polo and the Vento the special editions come with features like ABS and dual front airbags, body side moulding in black, ORVM covers in carbon fibre and a black roof foil.
