Volkswagen Ameo compact sedan is expected to be launched in India in the Q2 of 2016. If the emerging reports are anything to go by, the Ameo is likely to incorporate changes to the front fascia in its production version.
Volkswagen Ameo was unveiled in India in the first week of February in New Delhi, a day before the Auto Expo 2016. The compact sedan was also a part of the company's pavilion at the auto show in Delhi. Now a report of Overdrive claims that the Ameo, when launched later this year, will boast changes from the model showcased in Delhi. The changes are likely to be limited to the front of the model with more chrome touch on the front grille and LED headlamps. The cabin of the Ameo is likely to remain the same.
Volkswagen Ameo will be available with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder MPI petrol engine or a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TDI diesel engine. The diesel engine is available with five-speed manual and seven-speed DSG transmissions, while the petrol engine will be available with only five-speed manual transmission. The company has reserved power figures for the market launch in the Q2 of 2016.
All variants of the Ameo will come equipped with dual front airbags and ABS as standard. The new Ameo will house features like cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, static cornering lights, touchscreen multimedia music system with Mirror link, iPod connectivity, and phonebook and SMS viewer.
