It looks like German auto maker Volkswagen is planning to roll out yet another facelifted avatar of its Vento for the Indian market.
A new batch of spy shots of what is believed to be the new version of Vento sedan has emerged online, giving us an early glimpse at the model. Although there has not been any official confirmation yet on the new facelift version of Vento, rumours doing the rounds on the internet indicate that the new Vento could make its debut at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016.
Caught on camera by the motor buffs at AutoColumn, the new Vento is seen in its fully revealed avatar. Nothing much has changed in the new Vento except for the minor tweaks. From the images, the 2016 Vento seems to have got a refreshed styling at the front fascia. There seems to be Passat-like styled headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs and new front grille.
Under the hood, the new Vento facelift is likely to pack the same 1.5-litre diesel engine, which can churn out 103.5bhp power @4,400rpm and 250Nm of peak torque @1,500-2,500rpm with five-speed manual transmission and seven-speed DSG automatic and 1.2-litre TSI and 1.6-litre MPI engines. The 1.6 MPI returns a mileage of 16.09 kmpl and the 1.2 TSI and 1.5 MT deliver 18.19 kmpl and 20.4 kmpl, respectively. The mileage for the 1.5 DSG is 21.5 kmpl.
If this rings true, the 2016 Vento will be the third update on the model in two years of time. As for pricing, the new Vento facelift is expected to get a price tag premium at Rs 20,000 on the current model.
