"The Voice" US Season 9 has slowed down (almost to a crawl) after a brutal round which saw as many as 12 contestants getting eliminated in a single week. The Live Playoffs week 2 had only one contestant being sent home.
Mark Hood of Team Pharrell, who sang "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers in the Live Playoffs, was eliminated on Tuesday. He was placed in the bottom two along with Korin Bukowski of Team Gwen, which means they had to perform again for Instant Save. Interestingly, both of them were saved by their respective coaches last week.
Mark performed Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" for Instant Save. It was a decent performance but failed to please the audience. Korin, on the other hand, sang "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones; it was a beautiful rendition. Then Carson Daly announced that Mark was eliminated from the show.
Coach Pharrell Williams is left with only two artistes in his team after the ouster of Mark on Tuesday, while other coaches, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, still have three artistes intact in their respective teams.
Here is the complete list of 11 finalists who survived Live Playoffs 2 of "The Voice" USA 2015:
Team Gwen: Jeffery Austin, Braiden Sunshine, Korin Bukowski
Team Blake: Barrett Baber, Zach Seabaugh, Emily Ann Roberts
Team Pharrell: Madi Davis, Evan McKeel
