"The Voice" Season 7 has an interesting element – wild card. It's a move to give audience a chance to bring back their favourite contestant, who they think was prematurely eliminated from the show. So, eight contestants, who were eliminated in top 12, were given another chance to stay in contention for the title.
The eight contestants, including semi-finalists Damien and Taylor John Williams, performed again on Tuesday with the hope of grabbing the lone Wild Card ticket to the finals.
Wild Card Performances Recap:
Reagan James (Team Blake): "Put Your Records On" by Corinne Bailey Rae
Jessie Pitts (Team Blake): "Zombie" by The Cranberries
Ryan Sill (Team Gwen): "Marry Me" by Train
Anita Antoinette (Team Gwen): "Waiting on the World to Change" by John Mayer
Taylor John Williams (Team Gwen): "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak
Damien (Team Adam): "Grenade" by Bruno Mars
Sugar Joans (Team Pharrell): "Back to Black" by Amy Winehouse
Luke Wade (Team Pharrell): "Have a Little Faith in Me" by John Hiatt
DaNica Shirey (Team Pharrell): "Without You" by Mariah Carey
Going by the performances on Tuesday, it looks like Reagan James, Jessie Pitt, and Luke Wade may not stand a chance in the finals despite coaches praising them to the heavens as usual. Contestants like Ryan Sill, Anita Antoinette, and Taylor John Williams stand a chance to go all the way to the finals.
However, it was Sugar Joans of Team Pharrell, who stole the show with her rendition of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black". She has given out a strong message through her Tuesday's performance that America shouldn't have eliminated her.
Meanwhile, semi-finalist Damien, who sang Bruno Mars' "Grenade," and DaNica Shirey, who performed "Without You" by Mariah Carey, may gift Sugar Joans a tough fight for the lone Wild Card ticket to the finals. But having said that, it's the Americans who will decide the winner, and it can sway in any contestant's favour.
"The Voice" Season 7 Wild Card winner will be announced on Wednesday.
