"The Voice" Season 7 will be down to just four contestants after tonight's elimination round. Two of the top five semi-finalists will be sent home tonight based on public vote and one of the contestants eliminated in the top 12 will enter next week's finale on wildcard.
Damien, Matt McAndrew, and Chris Jamison of Team Adam, Craig Wayne Boyd of Team Blake, and Taylor John Williams of Team Gwen performed two songs each – one chosen by their coach and one their choice - in the semi-finals on Monday with the hope of advancing to the finale.
Damien of Team Adam kicked off the semi-finals with Michael Jackson's "She's Out of My Life." His coach, Adam Levine gave him a tough song but he managed to pull it off and gave a decent performance. He then took on Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait" which was another average performance.
Team Blake's Craig Wayne Boyd sang the song, "Workin' Man Blues" by Merle Haggard in his semi-finals opener. His performance was ordinary and so too Blake Shelton's song choice. He went on to sing his choice, "The Old Rugged Cross," and it was better than his previous rendition.
Taylor John Williams of Team Gwen took on Swell Season's "Falling Slowly" in the semi-finals but he sounded shaky in parts, especially the lower register. His second song was Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" and it was better than his earlier performance.
Team Adam's Matt McAndrew took on Ed Sheeran's "Make It Rain" and it was a great performance. His second song, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2 was another solid performance.
Chris Jamison of Team Adam sang Maroon 5's "Sugar" and he gave justice to the song. His second song was Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man" and it was another great performance that could take him to next week's finale.
However, it's the audience who will decide the fate of the finalists at the end of the day. Sugar Joans, Jessie Pitts, Reagan James, Anita Antoinette, Ryan Sill, Luke Wade, and DaNica Shirey, who were eliminated in top 12, will perform again on Tuesday with hope of advancing to the finale on wildcard. America can choose only one of them.
"The Voice" Season 7 semi-finals results will be announced at 8:00 pm EST on Tuesday on NBC Television (6.30 am IST, Wednesday). The episode can also be live-streamed online on Hulu.
