"The Voice" Season 11 (USA) 2016 live playoffs looked unfair for one big reason. The US presidential elections might have forced the organisers of the show to declare the results on Monday, but it would have been better if the elimination episode is pushed to Wednesday, because eliminating contestants through real-time voting was harsh.
The audience chose two contestants from each team through real-time voting via Twitter and the Voice app after the Playoffs performance. The coaches -- Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys and Blake Shelton -- saved their favourites, leaving them with three artistes each to go to the next round.

And here are the shocking results:
Team Adam
Artistes saved by America: Billy Gilman and Josh Gallagher were voted to the top 12. Billy gave a good rendition of Roy Orbison's "Crying", and Josh's rendition of "Colder Weather" by Zac Brown Band was good too.
Artiste saved by Adam: Brendan Fletcher, who sang Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody," was saved by his coach.
Eliminated: Riley Elmore and Simone Gundy were sent home. Riley sang "Luck Be a Lady" by Frank Sinatra and Simone took on Rihanna's "Diamonds." They put up a good show but not good enough to progress to the next round.
Team Alicia
Artistes saved by America: Christian Cuevas and Wé McDonald got highest votes from the audience. Christian's rendition of the Beatles' "Yesterday" was impressive. However, it appeared like We was saved because of her previous performance, because her rendition of Stephanie Mills' "Home" on Monday was not up to the expectations.
Artistes saved by Alicia: The coach saved Sa'Rayah who rocked the house with her rendition of "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James. It would be disappointing to see her go because her performance on Monday was perhaps the best in playoffs.
Eliminated: Kylie Rothfield and Josh Halverson were eliminated from the show. Kylie sang Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and Josh took on Sam Cooke's "Cupid" on Monday.
Team Miley
Artistes saved by America: Aaron Gibson and Ali Caldwell were voted to the next round. Aaron showed lots of improvement with his rendition of Counting Crows' "Round Here" on Monday and Ali put up a splendid show with her performance of Irma Thomas' "Times Have Changed."
Artiste saved by Miley: Darby Walker moved on to the next round. She was shaky in her rendition of Mary Hopkin's "Those Were the Days" but she made it.
Eliminated: Sophia Urista, who performed "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" by Rod Stewart, and Belle Jewel, who sang Del Shannon's "Runaway" were eliminated.
Team Blake
Artistes saved by America: Sundance Head, who sang "Blue Ain't Your Color" by Keith Urban in the playoffs, and Austin Allsup, who took on "I Ain't Living Long Like This" by Waylon Jennings, were saved.
Artiste saved by Blake: As expected, Blake saved Courtney Harrell. Her rendition of "It Must Have Been Love" by Roxette wasn't as impressive as her Knockouts performance but was good enough to progress to the next round.
Eliminated: Dana Harper, who took on Hall & Oates' "Maneater," and Jason Warrior who sang "One Dance" by Drake were eliminated.
