Telecom service provider Vodafone and mobile phone maker Karbonn have inked a deal to provide internet data plans for their customers in India.
The new collaboration offers a special data plan on the purchase of mid-range smartphones like Karbonn Titanium S5 and Karbonn Smart A12. According to the plan, those buying Karbonn Titanium S5 will get 1GB 3G/2G/EDGE unlimited internet plant free for three months from Vodafone. Vodafone 3G customers using Karbonn A12 are also offered the 500MB 3G/2G/EDGE Internet plan for two months.
"Through our latest offering we seek to engage the consumer base with a power package which allows them to seamlessly navigate the internet with the best of hardware devices - the Karbonn Titanium S5 and Karbonn Smart A12 and the best of Internet network provided by Vodafone," Shashin Devsare, Executive Director, Karbonn.
In India the companies like BSNL and Pantel Technologies are also offering the similar kind of data plans through the partnership. The offer is currently available only for these two devices and may be extended to other devices in the coming days.
Karbonn Smart A12
Karbonn Smart A12 sports a 4.5-inch capacitive screen with qHD display and is powered by Broadcom's 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and packs 512 MB of RAM along with 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card. The smartphone houses a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and auto-focus and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, the device supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It has dual SIM capacity and packs a 1800 mAh battery.
Karbonn Titanium S5
S5 packs a 5.0-inch capacitive qHD display with multi-touch point. The smartphone runs on Android v4.1 mobile operating system out-of-the-box and packs an 8-megapixel main camera with a 2.0-megapixel camera on the front. It is powered by a quad-core processor with 1.2GHz CPU speed and packs 1GB of RAM.
