Vodafone India, in a seemingly new bid to tackle the growing influence of Reliance Jio's ultra-affordable 4G data plans, has now come out with a new data pack that offers as much as 20GB 4G data at Rs 998 valid for one month. This is a nearly 32 percent discount on 4G data tariffs announced by Reliance Jio.
This offer by Vodafone India is under its Vodafone SuperNetTM4G initiative. Under this scheme, Vodafone subscribers in Surat, Gujarat, get to enjoy 20GB 4G data at Rs 998 a month. Vodafone states that this offer will be expanded to the rest of Gujarat shortly.
Gujarat Vodafone 4G subscribers also get to choose data packs starting from as less as Rs 8 (offering 30 MB data) along with being eligible to check out Vodafone Play for free for 90 days.
At this point in time, it is worth noting that Reliance Jio offers 10GB worth of 4G data for a month with a price tag of Rs 999. The 20GB 4G-LTE data, under Reliance Jio's scheme of things, costs Rs 1499 and is valid for 28 days. This also includes unlimited 4G data all night along with free voice calling.
As far as Vodafone's latest SuperNetTM4G initiative in Gujarat is concerned, the operator is also offering free voice calls albeit to only local Vodafone numbers and for a limited period.
Reliance Jio's tariff plans
Reliance Jio will finally kick-off full-fledged operations in India on Sept.5, and users get to enjoy unlimited 4G data and voice calling along with SMS as an introductory offer till Dec.31. Full tariff plans can be checked out below:
