Vivo has finally announced its Vivo Xplay 5 and Vivo Xplay 5 Elite devices after weeks of speculations at a special event in China on Tuesday.
The devices have caught the attention of the public and gadget lovers alike as they have become the world's first smartphones to have a 6GB RAM when only a few top-end devices currently available in the market come packed with a 4GB RAM.
Vivo Xplay 5 specifications and price
Vivo Xplay 5 sports a 5.43-inch Super AMOLED QHD display, an aluminium magnesium alloy body with curves at the back and a fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Android 5.1 Lollipop, a 128GB internal storage (no microSD card slot), a 4GB RAM, a 16MP Sony IMX298 rear camera, an 8MP front-snapper and a 3,600mAh battery.
The device will be released in China on March 8. It is currently available for pre-orders on Vivo's official website for CNY 3,698 ($565).
Vivo Xplay 5 Elite specifications and price
Vivo Xplay 5 Elite is more powerful of the two variants, as the name suggests. It has a complete metal body and screen protected by a Gorilla Glass 4. It sports a 5.43-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD screen and features a fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, the dual-SIM device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Android 5.1 Lollipop, a 128GB internal storage, a 6GB RAM, a 16MP Sony IMX298 main camera, an 8MP secondary camera and a 3,600mAh battery.
The device will be released in China along with the Vivo Xplay 5 on March 8. It comes with a price tag of CNY 4,288 ($655).
