Chinese technology firm, Vivo has unveiled the world's first Quad HD (aka 2K) display smartphone dubbed as XPlay 3S.
The new Vivo smartphone sports a mammoth 6.0-inch display, with 2560x1440p resolutions with pixel density of 490 ppi (pixels per inch) and runs on the Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.
Under-the-hood, it sports 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory (with options for expansion), 13.0-megapixel main camera (with auto-focus, f1.8 aperture,HDR & CMOS sensor), a 5.0-megapixel wide-angle secondary camera for video chat and a 3200 mAh battery.
With the launch of Xplay 3S, Vivo has raced past world smartphone leader Samsung and other cash-rich MNCs who are also touted to launch high-end 2K display smartphones early next year.
The company claims that the feature-rich Xplay 3S will be made available initially in China in few weeks time (before 31 January to be precise) for 3498 CNY (roughly translates to ₹35,900 in Indian denomination) and Vivo is also chalking out plans to release flagship smartphone in international markets as well, reported Engadget.
Top Chinese firms, Lenovo, Huawei and Gionee have all entered the Indian smartphone market, so it won't be a surprise if Vivo decides to jump in to the bandwagon.
