There is a buzz doing rounds online that the teaser from Ajith's much-awaited movie Viswasam will be out on Thursday, 22 November. The rumour created a lot of excitement for Thala fans, but the video will not be put out online today.
"We are happy to announce the #ViswasamUpdateToday at 00.00am...✌ Keep Calm and Wait for official Announcement today Hope all enjoy it today #ViswasamThiruvizha. [sic]" a fake account of Sathya Jyothi Films, which is producing Viswasam, tweeted.
Many fans of Ajith, based on this Tweet started a countdown for the release of Viswasam teaser without first verifying if the news is real or not. However, sources close to the team have now confirmed that the makers of the film have no plans on releasing it on Thursday.
Tamil Nadu is still on the path to recovery after cyclone Gaja swept through. Its run left a trail of destruction all across the state and had a devastating impact on the people. Makers of the film feel that now is not the right time to unveil the teaser and celebrate the occasion.
So fans will most likely have to wait till December for the teaser.
Viswasam reunites Siruthai Siva with Ajith for the fourth time after Veeram, Vedalam and Vivegam. Thala is rumoured to be playing the role of a police officer in Viswasam, which has Nayanthara co-starring.
Anikha, Vivek, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu and a host of supporting artistes are part of the Tamil movie produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. The makers of the movie had initially planned the film's release during Diwali, but the 48-day Kollywood strike forced them to change their plans.
Now, Viswasam is set to release in January 2019 to coincide with the Pongal festival in the state.
