German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has released pictures of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 ahead of its debut at the ongoing Monterey Car Week. According to the company, the 2+2 seater, six-metre-long in length luxury-class coupe pays homage to the glorious age of the aero coupes.

The flamboyant coupe concept is designed as an electric car in which the drive system has an output of 737bhp. The shallow under floor battery allows a range of over 500 kilometres. The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 represents the ultimate in luxury with the aesthetic proportions of the show car such as the extremely long bonnet, the low roof line and the rearward positioning. The designers also stressed on aerodynamics while designing the concept without adding spoilers.

The concept runs on distinctive 24-inch wheels, a development of the aero rim from the Concept IAA (Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile). A transparent shield in the vehicle colour provides a view of the aluminum spokes behind it.

The concept features gull-wing doors taking inspiration from the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. The silhouette of the concept has been designed in aluminum trim. The rear of the concept has been designed taking inspiration from boats, while the two shallow twin rear windows add sportiness at the rear.

Inside, the dashboard wing curves across the door trim into the seat landscape, creating a 360 degree lounge. The interior is also finished with premium materials and colours such as rose gold to create a luxurious atmosphere. The long bonnet can be used for luggage space and would fit two suitcases made exclusively for the vehicle.

Monterey Car Week in California will conclude on Aug. 21.
