Following the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, there were speculations doing rounds that his much-delayed Vishwaroopam 2, which was scheduled for release on Friday, August 10, would be postponed. It now looks like the Kamal Haasan's film is not delayed as reported by a section of media and will be seeing the light of the day as scheduled before.
The makers of Vishwaroopam 2 have not spoken about the delay in the film's release and the advance booking has not started yet. As per Telugu media, Kamal Haasan's film would be released on the occasion of Independence Day next week. However, the reports emerging from Tamil media indicate that the actor is apparently firm on his plans as he wants to go ahead with the release.
The latest buzz says that the preparations for the release of the Hindi and Telugu versions have happened in a big way and pushing the release will end with a severe loss for the people involved. Hence, Kamal Haasan is rumoured to have decided to release the film with a special tribute message to M Karunanidhi.
The advance booking for the movie tickets has not started yet in Chennai but has commenced with a bang in Bengaluru.
The situation remains same in the US where the movie is scheduled to have its premiere in over 140 screens across the country on Thursday, August 9.
Vishwaroopam 2 is a circumquel to Kamal Haasan's 2013 hit movie Vishwaroopam. It is an international spy thriller in which Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah and Rahul Bose are also in prominent roles.
