Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam 2 has done decent business at the box office in several overseas centres. The much-hyped multilingual movie was released on August 10.
To begin with, Vishwaroopam 2 has made a collection $364,655 (Rs 2.56 crore) from its Tamil version. The movie had opened with Thursday premieres by raking in $102,018 (Rs 71.79 lakh) from 122 locations. Despite getting mixed reviews, the collections did not drop on Friday as it earned $96,381 (Rs 67.82) from 127 locations.
On Saturday, Vishwaroopam 2 enjoyed good footfalls in 126 locations by raking in Rs $105,124 (Rs 73.97 lakh), but the collections drastically dropped on Sunday as it could only earn $49,798 (Rs 35.04 lakh). Subsequently, the film earned $11,334 (Rs 7.97 lakh) from 69 locations on Monday.
The Hindi version did not have premieres and opened in 38 locations on Friday by collecting $7,127 (Rs 5.01 lakh). It earned $6,715 (Rs 4.72 lakh) from 40 locations, $4,961 (Rs 3.49 lakh) from 49 locations and $1,900 (Rs 1.33 lakh) from 36 locations in the next three days.
The combined three-day collection of Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions of Vishwaroopam 2 stands at $ 3,85,358 (Rs 2.71 crore).
Other Centres
The Kamal Haasan starrer from all its versions raked in Rs 2.32 lakh in Canada, Rs 53.16 lakh in the UK, Rs 58.29 lakh in Australia, Rs 3.33 lakh in Germany and Rs 37.2 lakh in Malaysia.
Domestic Box Office
Vishwaroopam 2 has grossed over Rs 14 crore in Tamil Nadu while earning over Rs 10 crore from the rest of India. The movie is expected to do good business on Wednesday, August 15, as it is the Independence Day holiday.
