Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam 2 is off to a slow start at the Tamil Nadu box office, althouh the movie has done well in a few key centres, including Chennai and Chengalpet regions, during its first weekend.
The early reports emerging from the trade circles have said that Vishwaroopam 2 has estimated to have earned about Rs 14 crore in the first weekend at the Tamil Nadu box office. The movie was released on limited screens and the uncertainty over its release badly impacted the business of the flick on the first day.
On the opening day, Vishwaroopam 2 did not have special morning shows, and it faced issues in the centres like Madurai. Yet it is estimated to have collected around Rs 5.1 crore.
On the next day, the Kamal Haasan's film made Rs 4.2 crore to take its two-day total tally to Rs 9.3 crore. On the last day of its first weekend, Vishwaroopam collected around Rs 4.7 crore.
Coming to Chennai, Vishwaroopam 2, which has Andrea Jeremiah and Pooja Kumar in the female leads, earned Rs 2.39 crore in its opening weekend.
It has to be noted that these are estimated numbers and not revealed by the makers of the movie.
In Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions, the combined business is said to be above over Rs 5 crore. However, Vishwaroopam 2, which was expected to do good business in Kerala, has not done notable collection as the heavy rains have wreaked havoc in the God's Own Country.
