The business of Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam 2 witnessed a massive improvement on its second day at the Chennai box office. A decent word-of-mouth and active promotions carried out by the team helped the flick improve its business.
On the second day, Visharoopam 2 has raked in Rs 1.03 crore at the Chennai and Chengalpet box office. The movie had collected Rs 92 lakh on its opening day. The two-day total collection stands at Rs 1.95 crore from the aforementioned centres.
Kamal Haasan's film was released to a good hype although the advance booking registered poor response over uncertainty over the film's release. There were no early morning shows and this impacted its opening-day business.
Coming to other parts of Tamil Nadu, the business of Vishwaroopam 2 is not up to the mark for the same reasons. Reports claim that in centres like Madurai the mega-budget movie had a delayed release.
Outside Tamil Nadu, Vishwaroopam 2 has done well in Karnataka, but the collection has taken a toll in Kerala as the state is devastated by heavy rains.
Among the overseas centres, Vishwaroopam 2 has earned over $300,000 in the US and A$81,250 in Australia. It is reported that the film has done a notable business in the UK and Malaysia.
Vishwaroopam 2 is expected to improve its collection on Sunday and end its first weekend on a positive note in major centres in India and overseas centres.
