Vishwaroopam 2 movie review and ratings by audience: Live updates

Five years after the release of Vishwaroopam, the sequel to Kamal Haasan's much-awaited movie is hitting the screens on Friday, August 10. With multiple issues surrounding the movie, Vishwaroopam 2 is finally releasing much to the moviegoers' relief. Vishwaroopam 2 Story
The climax scene of Vishwaroopam showed Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri (Kamal Haasan), a solider-turned-espionage, preventing a terrorist attack in New York. The attack was devised by Omar Qureshi (Rahul Bose), who evaded the cops in the final scene.

Wisam and Omar have a flashback story where the former disguised as a Tamil Jihadi joins al-Qaeda. He also learns about their activities and destroys their evil plans. In the circumquel, the villain seeks revenge against the Indian spy. Omar wants to plan a terrorist attack in India on Independence Day. Omar's strategy to attack India and how Wisam defends his nation forms the crux of the story.

The latest film is a high-voltage action film which serves as follow-up to Vishwaroopam. The movie is loaded with intense action and high quality VFX. Vishwaroopam 2 has opened to mixed reviews from the audience. While the performance and technical aspects have been lauded by people, the slow progress of the story has not gone well with a section of audience. Many are of the opinion that Vishwaroopam 2 would have connected well with the audience if released within one year after the first part hit the screens.

Sreedhar Pillai: #Vishwaroopam2 A engaging sequel, that works largely due to @ikamalhaasan one-man show and a couple of dialogue scenes. #Andrea is a revelation, while @PoojaKumarNY scenes with Kamal r enjoyable. Slow paced as story goes back and forth & too much footage used from part 1.

Please do watch #vishwaroopam 1st part again (for recap) before you go to #Vishwaroopam2 . Just consider both as one movie. You will enjoy. If not, movie wont be engaging. Performances are neat. Could understand reasons for the tacky VFX. But doesnt affect too much.
Finally watched #Vishwaroopam2 . A worthy watch movie. More emotional and less intense than 1st part. If it had released within a year of 1st part release, could have connected more with the movie. 5yrs delay is the biggest drawback. Nevertheless a solid effort from @ikamalhaasan

Didnt utilize the villains upto what we expect. Ended so fast, or may be bcoz no major twists. But over all good entertainer. Yeah, not upto the first. #Vishwaroopam2

Rajasekar: I thoroughly enjoyed the first part which is Tamil Cinema's best spy thriller but this one is quite underwhelming. The visual quality, stunt sequences of #Vishwaroopam 2 are nowhere near the 1st part. Actor KH shines as usual but for the first time, director KH disappoints.
Felt that the leftover scenes from the first part were needlessly explained in detail. Technically @GhibranOfficial and @kunal_rajan 's works are impressive. Overall, #Vishwaroopam2 is strictly average.

VCD: #Vishwaroopam2 -The pace reduces in the 2nd half. Overall, the high moments were less when compared to 1st part. Felt the 2nd part was confined to a few scenes & locations. But a good ending to all the unclarified doubts and a good message too
