Vishal and Simbu's flicks will clash at the box office in January as they will be released on the same day. The two actors had last competed with each other on a different front -- political -- at the Nadigar Sangam elections in October 2015.
The latest buzz is that Vishal's "Kathakali" and Simbu's "Idhu Namma Aalu" will be released on the same day, around Pongal 2016. Generally, the makers of big movies try to avoid clashes and refrain from releasing movies on the same day.
The interesting fact is that both the movies have been directed by Pandiraj. Rarely, two movies of a filmmaker release on the same day and it has to be seen how Pandiraj will promote both the flicks.
Simbu had indulged in name calling Vishal during a Nadigar Sangam election campaign. It seems the two actors consider the upcoming clash as a battle and want to prove their mettle at the collection centres.
For Vishal, this is a very crucial movie to hit back at his critics, who have mocked him during the Nadigar Sangam elections over the poor performance of his films at the box office.
While "Kathakali" is an action film starring Vishal and Catherine Tresa, "Idhu Namma Aalu" is a romantic comedy.
