The Visakhapatnam railway station has been declared as the cleanest railway station among the 75 busiest stations in the country, followed by Secunderabad in Telangana and Jammu Tawi in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Beas has been ranked the cleanest station in the A category, followed by Khammam, and Ahmednagar station.
Third party audit report on station cleanliness released by railway minister Suresh Prabhu on Wednesday, May 17 ranked Darbhanga railway station in Bihar as the dirtiest.
The survey carried out by the Quality Council of India analysed 407 railway stations across India. As many as 75 stations were analysed in the A-1 category (most busy stations) which contribute more than Rs. 50 crore in passenger earnings every year and 332 are in the A category which earn between Rs. 6 crore to Rs. 50 crore annually.
The stations were ranked on the basis of cleanliness of the toilets at the platforms, clean tracks and dustbins at the stations.
This was the third survey on cleanliness done by the railways as part of its 'Swachh Rail' campaign.
"We want all stations to be clean. There are many stations which have improved their cleanliness ranking from last time," Prabhu said after releasing the survey report.
Varanasi railway station, situated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha constituency, secured the 14th rank in the A1 category while New Delhi station was ranked 39. Nizamuddin and Old Delhi stations were placed at 23rd and 24th position respectively.
