Virat Kohli's magnificent performance during the India-Australia match at the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup Sunday was followed by series of trolls on Anushka Sharma on social media. However, Virat, not in a mood to take things lightly, took to Instagram and lashed out at the trolls making fun of his former girlfriend.
Anushka becomes the butt of all jokes every time the cricketer plays a match and this time too Virat's brilliant knock against Australia at Mohali was linked to his split with Anushka. The actress was trolled and jokes started doing the rounds that Virat has started playing better ever since he parted ways with her.
While the jokes amused many, the cricketer found the trolls very offensive and distasteful. Virat took to Twitter and said: "Shame on people for trolling @AnushkaSharma non-stop. Have some compassion. She has always only given me positivity (sic)."
The furious cricketer then took to Instagram and said: "Shame on those people who have been having a go at anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what i do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity. This was long time coming. Shame on these people that hide and take a dig. And i dont need any respect for this post. Have some compassion and respect her. Think of how your sister or girlfriend or wife would feel if someone trolled them and very conveniently rubbished them in public (sic)."
Virat and Anushka were in a relationship, but the duo parted ways a few months ago for reasons best known to them. The two have been cordial after their breakup, and the actress congratulates him after almost every good innings that he played. Anushka is also said to have dropped a text message on Virat's number, congratulating him after India's win against Bangladesh March 19. As the duo seems to have parted ways on a good note, will they ever get back together in the future? This is something only time will tell.
