While Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma preferred their wedding ceremony to be a private affair, the celebrity couple has left no stone unturned when it comes to hosting grand reception parties for family and friends from Bollywood and cricket fraternity.

After a week-long speculation, the Indian cricket team captain and Bollywood actress confirmed their marriage news on Twitter on Monday, December 11.

A luxury heritage resort was booked for the week-long celebration in Tuscany, Italy and only close friends and family members were invited, according to reports.

Notably, Kohli and Anushka created a lot of buzz when they, along with their families, were spotted leaving the country from Delhi and Mumbai airports, respectively last week. Both the parties remained mum when they were quizzed before departure.

The details about the ceremony were kept under the wraps and even the wedding planners had a tough time guarding it against their teams.

As it turns out, it has been revealed that Kohli and Anushka will have two separate reception parties. The first one will be held in New Delhi for their relatives on December 21 which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26.

Kohli and Anushka will also be shifting to their new residence in Worli in December.

New Year plans and South Africa tour

Kohli will now travel to South Africa along with his partner. The newlyweds will celebrate the New Year eve in South Africa, five days ahead of the first Test of the much-anticipated three-match series between the hosts and India, according to the couple's spokesperson.

Anushka though is not expected to stay with skipper Kohli through the South Africa tour as she will be returning to India in the first week of January to begin shooting for Anand L Rai's directorial venture, which also has Shah Rukh Khan.

Kohli was granted rest by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after he led India to a 1-0 win in the three-match Test series against South Africa earlier this month.

Notably, the Indian captain had also lamented the hectic schedule and lack of preparation time for the South Africa tour, which will be Team India's first major overseas assignment since 2-14-15 tour to Australia.
