The Tamil film industry will witness the release of three major films on 18 July. "Vella Illa Pattadhari" (VIP) directed by Velraj, "Sathuranga Vettai" directed by H.Vinoth and "Irukku Aana Illa" directed by Saravanan are all expected to fight this weekend at the Tamil Nadu box office. The industry is currently facing an all-time low in terms of collection and screenings. The releases on 18 July are expected to bring back audiences to theatres and increase the collections.
"Velai Illa Pattadhari"
"Velai Illa Pattadhari" is directed and scripted by former cinematographer Velraj. The film stars Dhanush and Amala Paul in the lead roles, and is produced by the actor himself under the banner of Wunderbar Films. It is Dhanush's 25th film as an actor. He will play the role of Raghuvaran, an ambitious civil engineer who is waiting for the right opportunity to come. Amala will be his love interest Shalini, who is a doctor.
The romantic entertainer is said to have all the ingredients of a typical Dhanush film with punch dialogues, action sequences and great music. The film is assured to be a musical treat by Anirudh. Dhanush has sung two songs for the film, out of which one is with playback singer S. Janaki.
The film also has a star-cast of Vivek, Sathish, Samuthirakani, Saranya, Surabhi, Anita Ratnam, Amitash, Hrishikesh and Cell Murugan. The cinematography is done by Arun Babu and editing is by M.V. Rajesh Kumar. The film is brought to theatres by Escape Artist Motion Pictures.
"Sathuranga Vettai"
"Sathuranga Vettai" directed by debutant H. Vinoth is a comedy thriller. The film deals with an individual's race to make money and how he tries to strike balance in his life with the same. It's about a common man who thinks financial advancement is the solution to all his problems.
The film has Natrajan (Natty), Ishara Nair, Ilavarasu, Piraisudan, Valavan, Dharani and Ramachandiran playing the lead roles. The music is composed by Sean Roldan and the lyrics are done by Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu, Madhan Karky, Ganesh Kumar and Muthamil.
The cinematography is handled by K.G.Venkatesh and editing is by Raja Sethupathy. The film produced by N.Subash Chandra Bose, Manobala and Sanjay Rawal is distributed by Thirrupathi Brothers.
"Irukku Aana Illa"
"Irukku Aana Illa" is directed and scripted by debutant K.M. Saravanan. It is a suspense thriller, which tells the story of a young man who is labelled as loser in his life as he is unable to meet success in his life. He meets a girl who brings luck in his life but her presence results a lot of mysteries.
The film has Vivanth, Eden, Manisha Shree, Aadhavan, Y.G. Mahendra and Raviraj in pivotal roles.
"Irikku Aana Illa" has six songs, all composed by Shammeer. The songs are penned by Navin Kannan, Sengai Nilavan and Vasanth and the cinematography is handled by Kris A. Chandar. The film is produced by Sathya Nagaraj, S. Chelladurai, Sami P.Venkat and Balamani Jayabalan, who are all Non Resident Indians (NRIs) from Kuwait under the banner of Varam Creations. The film is distributed by RPP Film Company.
