Actors Sudeep, Darshan, Yash, Ramya and other Kannada celebrities have requested their fans across Karnataka to maintain peace after violence broke out in Bangalore over the Cauvery water sharing issue.
Violence broke out in Bangalore, Mandya and a few other places across Karnataka on Monday, Sept. 12, after the Supreme Court ordered the state to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. The protesters targeted vehicles registered in Tamil Nadu, and eateries and other shops owned by Tamil individuals. They pelted stones at, and set fire to, vehicles and shops.
The chain of violence gathered momentum in Bangalore on Monday evening. The police had a tough time in controlling the mob at various places. After seeing these violent incidents, several Kannada celebs took to their Twitter handles and requested fans not to take law into their hands. Here are their comments:
