Actor Vinod Alva, who has starred in some Kannada and Telugu movies, was arrested by the Puttur police in connection with the conspiracy to murder his ex-manager Sachidananda.
Sachidananda had recently filed a case with the Puttur rural police station. In his complaint, he had reportedly claimed the actor hatched a conspiracy against him.
The Puttur rural police arrested Alva at Ishwaramangala on Monday (16 November). They have registered a case under IPC Sections 120 B (Criminal Conspiracy) and 307 (Attempt To Murder) against the actor.
Reports suggest Sachidananda used to manage all the financial affairs of Vinod Alva, and even had power of attorney to execute his deals. But he quit the job earlier this year and also went to court on 7 March, 2015, demanding compensation from Vinod Alva for his work, reports Daiji World.
Sachidananda was going to the milk dairy at Ishwaramangala on 15 November, 2015, when his bike was hit by a jeep from behind at Kukkaje. Vinod Alva's associate Udaya Chikithaya was reportedly driving the jeep. Sachidananda has claimed the hit was intentional, aimed to eliminate him as he had gone to court against Vinod Alva.
Reports suggest Vinod Alva has been listed as a rowdy sheeter at Puttur rural police station after he threatened people in Badagannur and Sullia Padav 20 years ago. Sachidananda reportedly told the police Vinod Ava had conspired to eliminate a BJP politician from the area, who was against him, but he had refused to be part of the conspiracy.
Vinod Alva debuted as an actor with the Kannada movie "Namma Oora Devathe" in 1986. He has featured in over 25 movies in Kannada and Telugu. He was last seen in the 2001 film "Mafia".
"Amar Akbar Anthony", "Thaliya Aane", "Maha Yuddha", "Police Brothers", "Seetharathnamgari Abbayi" and "Karthavyam" are some of his hit movies.
