Kiccha Sudeep and Shivaraj Kumar-starrer The Villain has cleared the censor test. The movie has been certified 'U/A' from the regional censor board.
After watching the rough copy of the movie, the members of the censor board had reportedly decided to give 'A' certificate to The Villain. But director Prem wanted 'U/A' certificate so that the film reaches to all section of audience. Hence, he approached the revising committee.
"#thevillain censor completeD CELEBRATION BEGINS!!! Announcing date for ADVANCE BOOKING SOON!!! [sic]" director Prem tweeted about the movie completing the censor formalities.
The fans of Kiccha Sudeep want the movie to be released on September 13 to coincide with the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. However, CG works are not completed yet. Hence, the release might be delayed.
Also, Kiccha Sudeep will be busy with Kannada Chalanachitra Cup (KCC) for the next 10 days, "A small 10 days break for me from pailwaan to attend to KCC. It means Sudeep and Shivaraj Kumar are unlikely to be available for the promotions of The Villain. So, in all probability, The Villain will be released on 20 September.
The Villain, which has Amy Jackson in the female lead, is produced by CR Manohar.
