Ajith Kumar's "Yennai Arindhaal", which was supposed to release on 15 January, is likely to release a week before, to avoid clashes with Vikram's mega-budget project "I"
The first hint of the change in date was given by Ayngaran International. In one of its Twitter accounts, the company posted that "Yennai Arindhaal" has been confirmed for 9 January. "Ajith in #YennaiArindhaal in cinemas near you from 9th Jan 2015," the post read.
It comes as a surprise to many as the makers of the film had announced recently that it will release for Pongal on 15 January.
As per the traders, "Yennai Arindhaal" release has been advanced to avoid clash with "I". Aascar Ravichandran, the producer of the Vikram's movie, has booked majority of the screens for his release and foreseeing the shortage of screens, AM Rathnam decided to pre-pone his film.
Nonetheless, AM Rathnam's move is said to be a wise decision and this will benefit both "Yennai Arindhaal" and "I". However, it has to be seen whether other Pongal film "Aambala" starring Vishal and Hansika Motwani will release as per plans.
Meanwhile, "Yennai Arindhaal" teaser is ready to hit the internet. The video-clip will appear before audience on 4 December. The Tamil movie is directed by Gautham Menon and features Trisha Krishnan and Anushka Shetty in the female lead roles.
On the other hand, "I" is a mega-budget movie directed by Shankar. The Vikram and Amy Jackson starrer will simultaneously release in three languages.
Biggest Clash
This will be the biggest clash in the recent years after Vijay took on Ajith earlier this year with "Jilla" and "Veeram" releasing for Pongal 2014. The whole industry and audience are waiting to see Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal" taking on "I" at the box office.
