Chiyaan Vikram's daughter Akshita seems to have found her soulmate as she is all set to get engaged to Manu Ranjit, who is the grandson of DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) chief M Karunanidhi. The news has come as a pleasant surprise.
The Times of India reported that the engagement of Vikram's daughter will be a strictly private and only close relatives of the couple will be gracing the event, which will be held on July 10 at an upscale hotel in Chennai. Manu Ranjit reportedly belongs to the Ranganathan family of CK's Bakery, a fast-growing bakery chain.
Vikram's family has started preparing for the big day. More details on the engagement are expected to be out in the coming days. However, the actor is yet to open up on the issue.
The daily adds that the wedding will be held next year. However, the fans of Vikram have welcomed the news but expressed their surprise over the development. A fan named Priyanka tweeted, "Never imagined #Vikram has a grown up daughter, who is set for engagement. Quite surprised. [sic]"
Vikram busy with 'Iru Mugan'
Chiyaan Vikram is currently busy with "Iru Mugan," in which he plays dual roles of a Raw agent and a baddie. The shooting of the movie is nearing completion and the team is currently filming a high-octane action sequence in Malaysia.
It is a science fiction movie, written and directed by Anand Shankar. The Tamil film features Vikram, Nayanthara and Nithya Menen in the leads. Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Bala, Mano, Satish and others are also part of the cast. It has Harris Jayaraj's music, RD Rajashekhar's cinematography and Bhuvan Srinivasan's editing.
"Iru Mugan" will hit the screens in August.
