The shooting of Vijay's "Theri" came to an end on Sunday, 6 December. The news has been announced by actress Amy Jackson.
On Twitter, Amy Jackson wrote" "Vijay, myself and the whole team are coming to the end of our shooting schedule for #Theri in Goa. (sic)" In the final leg, some key portions and action sequences were shot mainly on Vijay and Amy Jackson, who are reportedly playing the roles of cops in the flick.
Meanwhile, Amy Jackson, on her Instagram account, shared about standing up for Chennai during its time of need after badly affected by the flood. She wrote: "Not being able to help out physically in Chennai doesn't mean we can't be of service. The next step is to rebuild the city and we can do this by our donations. Please let's join together to get Chennai back on its feet. (sic)"
"Theri", which was earlier called "Vijay 59", was launched in June, and regular shooting kicked off in July. The makers had planned for 140 days of shooting, and it has been completed as planned.
The post-production work will begin shortly, and the makers of "Theri" are yet to lock in a release date. As of now, it is being said the flick might appear before the audience in April, but there are chances of it being released early.
"Theri" is an action film written and directed by Atlee Kumar of "Raja Rani" fame. Samantha plays the love interest of Vijay in the flick. Prabhu and Raadhika Sarathkumar will reportedly play the role of Ilayathalapathy's parents. Mahendran will be seen in the antagonist's role.
Rajendran, Azhagam Perumal, Kaali Venkat, TM Karthik, Sunaina and others in the cast in "Theri", which has GV Prakash's music, George C Williams' cinematography and Anthony L Ruben's editing.
