The soft-spoken Vijay was not his usual self at the"Kaththi" 50-day celebrations and the Ilayathalapathy made a bold speech. It is seen as a message to his detractors, who try to create problems during his films releases.
Vijay said in his speech that no single person can take credit for a film's success as there are many people involved in the making. Cinema is close to football in which a player requires the entire team's support to score goals. In the process, he faces 11 members from the opposing team.
"We can only win if we cross all the hurdles," Vijay claimed. His latest movie "Kaththi" faced a lot of trouble during its release.
"If your enemy comes to kill you, you cannot be letting him do that. We will have to fight back, just like he does. The weapon you choose depends on the weapon in your enemy's hands. If he talks softly, you will have to reciprocate softly. If he goes 'vera mathiri', we would also have to go 'vera mathiri'," the Times of India quotes Vijay as saying at the "Kaththi" 50-day celebration function held in Nellai.
This is a powerful statement by Vijay without directly pointing fingers at any individual. It is seen as a message to his detractors.
"Kaththi" is not the only movie that has faced trouble. Indeed, all Vijays's recent movies have faced issues. Notable among them was his "Thalaivaa", which was unofficially banned in the state and released two weeks after its worldwide release.
Coming back to "Kaththi", the movie has become one of the biggest hits of 2014. It reached the 100-crore land mark in just 12 days. Samantha and Neil Nitin Mukesh are in key roles. The Tamil movie is directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions.
