It posted, "#Puli ALL Canada premiere shows cancelled. #Puli USA East Coast late night shows may happen. Central time 8.30 or later may happen, West Coast after 6.30 possible. But no guarantee."
"#Puli local distributors will not allow overseas release without local clearance. Money from Telugu distributor pending to close financier. #Puli very slim chance of KDMs - Producer waiting on money from Hyderabad!! So EST and CST premieres cancelled. Slight hope on PST only, " ATMUS Entertaiment added.
It has to be noted that the Income Tax Department had conducted a raid on the houses and offices of "Puli" makers along with actor Vijay's resort and residence on Wednesday, 30 September. This is also one of the reasons behind the delay as the makers spent their crucial time answering the queries of IT sleuths.
"Puli" had a fantastic advance booking and most of the early morning shows were cancelled over the same.
This is not the first time where a Vijay's movie has landed in trouble during the release. Many movies including "Kaavalan" and "Thalaivaa" had faced similar situations. In fact, "Thaalivaa" was unofficially banned in Tamil Nadu for two weeks.
