The audio and teaser of Vijay's much-awaited "Kaththi" were released in an event held at Leela Palace, Chennai, on Thursday.
The event was attended by "Kaththi" cast and crew including Vijay, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anirudh, Madhan Karky and Hip Hop Thamizha among others.
There are seven tracks in "Kaththi" album including two theme songs. Renowned singers including K.J. Yesudas, Shankar Mahadevan and Sunidhi Chauhan have crooned for "Kaththi" album. One can buy the songs on iTunes India.
The album has already received fantastic response from several fans. It has taken the top spot on iTunes Charts. "#Kaththi is the Number 1 album on iTunes India! Thank you for the mindblowing response to the album :)," tweeted Anirudh.
"Kaththi" teaser was also released during the audio launch. It is expected to impress Vijay fans who have been eagerly waiting to see it.
Directed by Murugadoss, "Kaththi" is an action thriller with Vijay appearing in dual roles. Samantha plays the female lead opposite Vijay for the first time. The other cast members include Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tota Roy and comedian Sathish.
There are huge expectations on "Kaththi" as the "Thuppkki" combo Vijay-Murugadoss have teamed up again. The film's first looks and the motion poster have created great buzz about the project. It remains to be seen whether the action thriller will entertain the audience.
Produced by Lyca Productions and Ayngaran International, "Kaththi" will be released for diwali. It will be Vijay's second release of the year after "Jilla," which hit the screens during the Pongal festival period. "Jilla" did not enjoy a solo release and clashed with Ajith's "Veeram" at the box office.
Again, "Kaththi" will not have a solo release and will be locking horns with two other biggies - Vikram's "I" and Vishal's "Poojai."
Despite strong competition from other releases, "Kaththi" is expected to take fantastic openings owing to the star power of Vijay. However, the film's overall performance will depend on the audience reaction. Trade experts and Vijay fans will be eagerly tracking the film's performance against the other two biggies.
