The audio rights of Vijay's "Kaththi" have been acquired by Eros Music for a whopping sum. The news has been confirmed on the official Twitter handle of Ayngaran International, the co-producers of "Kaththi."
"Exclusive: #Kaththi audio rights snapped by #ErosMusic for a huge price," the makers had tweeted.
This is the first time that Eros Music has bagged the audio rights of a Tamil film. "Excited to associate with #Kaththi team @anirudhofficial @ARMurugadoss & Vijay sir, #ErosMusic s first tamil album this 18 Sep :) @ErosNow," tweeted Soundarya Rajinikanth, who has taken charge as director (creative & strategy) for Eros and head Eros Digital South India.
"Kaththi" audio will be launched in Chennai on 18 September. Music composer Anirudh has worked on the sound tracks and actor Vijay has rendered a song, "Selfie Pulla", for the album.
Expectations are sky high for "Kaththi" album as Anirudh is joining hands with Vijay and Murugadoss for the first time. The composer had earlier stated that there will be a lot of surprises in "Kaththi" album. This has kindled the curiosity of the fans and they are eagerly waiting to listen to the songs.
The audio launch of "Kaththi" is expected to be a grand affair with the presence of the film's cast and crew including Vijay, Samantha, Anirudh, Murugadoss and the film's producers.
"Kaththi" shooting, which commenced in February 2014, is on the verge of completion. The film's first half is completed, while the second half is set to get wrapped soon.
Vijay will be playing dual roles in the action entertainer. Samantha plays his love interest while Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh appears as the baddie. The actor has himself dubbed for his role in the film.
"Dubbed my own voice for KATHTHI. Quite a learning experience. Difficult language. But always feels good over coming a challenge," Neil tweeted.
"Kaththi" is gearing up for its Diwali release in October. The film will not enjoy a solo release and will be clashing with Vikram-Shankar's "Ai," which is also slated to hit the screens for the festival period. Both the films are carrying strong positive buzz and their clash will be a big treat for film buffs.
Vijay-Murugadoss's 2012-release, "Thuppakki", hit the screens during Diwali and turned out to be a huge hit at the box office. The actor-director duo will be hoping to strike gold once again with "Kaththi", wishing to repeat the success of their 2006-blockbuster flick, "Anniyan."
