This Tamil New Year is likely to be an exciting one for Tamil film lovers.
Besides the release of new films, fans can expect an interesting line up of first look of big films on this special occasion.
The first look of Vijay's "Kaththi" is expected to release on 14 April. It seems the film's director AR Murugadoss is working on the first look, which fans are eagerly waiting to look at.
Few days ago, Murugadoss announced the title of the Vijay starrer as "Kaththi." The announcement sent Vijay fans into frenzy and now they are looking forward to the first look of the film.
"Kaththi" is slated to hit the screens for Diwali this year.
There is also buzz that Suriya's "Anjaan" first look will be out on the Tamil New Year Day. The shooting of "Anjaan" is progressing at a brisk pace in Mumbai.
Director Lingusamy is trying to release the "Anjaan" first look teaser soon. "Good morning friends. Spoke to @dirlingusamy sir. He is tied up in #Anjaan shooting non-stop. However he is trying for the 1st teaser soon," Chief - South Business, Studios of Disney-UTV Motion Pictures (makers of "Anjaan") tweeted.
It is not clear whether the first look teaser will be out on 14 April, though there are rumours about the date.
"Anjaan" is confirmed to release on 15 August, for the Independence Day weekend.
One more first look that is expected to be unveiled on Tamil New Year Day is Vikram-Shankar's "Ai." Director Shankar has already been posting stills of "Ai" on social media sites, which has fetched good reception from fans. It is speculated that Shankar might release the film's first look for Tamil New Year.
However, there is no official word about the release of first looks from the people associated with all three biggies.
