Film goers are eagerly waiting for the big clash between Ajith's "Veeram" and Vijay's "Jilla" on Pongal next year. But latest buzz is that there might not be a clash after all.
Rumours are doing the rounds that Vijay's "Jilla", directed by debutant RT Nesan, might not hit the screens on Pongal. The work on "Jilla" is progressing at a brisk pace. The film's team is in Hyderabad to shoot some portions after which the lead pair Vijay-Kajal Aggarwal will head to foreign locales for canning song sequences. Their final schedule will take place in Chennai following which post-production work will begin in full swing.
"Jilla" has a big star cast including Malayalam actor Mohanlal and veteran actress Poornima Bhagyaraj. Parotta Suri and Vidyulekha Raman will provide comic relief in the action entertainer. The other members of the cast include Ravi Mariya, Thambi Ramaiah and Mahat Raghavendra.
After the success of "Thalaivaa", fans are waiting for "Jilla" release. Reports suggesting that the film is unlikely to release on Pongal could come in as a big disappointment to them. According to Behindwoods, the makers of "Jilla" are targeting summer 2014 to release the film as it is a full-fledged commercial entertainer.
However, the harvest festival (Pongal) is going to be real treat for Ajith fans as the makers of "Veeram", directed by "Siruthai Siva", have confirmed their film for the festival release.
It is not clear if "Veeram" will have a solo release or clash with any other big film. According to reports, Karthi's "Biriyani" is also reportedly set to hit theatres for Pongal. It may be recalled that Karthi's other film "All in All Azhagu Raja" is expected to release on Diwali this year when Ajith's "Arrambam" is scheduled to make it to theatres.
